The new US Copyright on AI Art

My word. Something coherent and tangible from the Federal Register offices, and in a speedy manner. Quicker than anyone thought. Here is a link to it: In short, AI prompters have no rights over what the generator creates. They have to learn art in order to make enough changes to the piece to have it copyrighted, BUT only the parts they made changes to, not the whole piece. And art taken from others can only be used for fair use. This likely came so fast because big game companies will not allow AI art to be used, thus made it's rounds in the industry and art communities. So it seems it is getting safe to post for artists again, but maybe not sites that burned their community. We'll see what DA does about their AI if they did get sneaky before letting their community know.

I don't believe DA in that art is protected, but I might have a solution (for me). Don't upload any finished works that will be prime targets for the AI and non-artists will use. I can upload concepts and line art of detailed works. Pixiv and Newgrounds (which is okay) are about the only one I know that don't allow AI. Even worse, adult art sites don't even allow AI while the SFW ignore or have all sorts of excuses. I'll use Pixiv and my SubscribeStar for illustrations and designs. I've thought on this for awhile and don't feel like "feeding the beast". There's no benefit to uploading just for likes and following when your work will just be fed into a database for someone else to benefit from, no sweat from their own brow.

I am seriously debating uploading here anymore. There are two options to opt out; one in your account settings and another for the art itself. Why are two needed if one doesn't cover the whole account?
